Oil and Gas

UAV’s can be used in the oil and gas industry for both offshore and onshore applications like flare stack inspections, platform inspections, oil spill, damage detection and general planned maintenance. Inspecting oil and gas platforms can be a dangerous business but Inspedrone will make sure that all risks associated are eliminated and the cost is minimized while the platform remains in full operation without delay to operations. Aerial inspections will reduce or even completely eliminate the work at height therefore we are controlling much better the asset and the risk of the maintenance operations.

Our drones are equipped with both optical and thermal imaging cameras and will collect crucial data during flare stack head inspections in a time and cost saving operation without the need to send employees climb the stacks which will result in down time to ensure their safety, therefore eliminating the interruption of production and the costs to the organization. UAV inspection will also allow early detection of any structural damage, including damage to piping, structural abnormalities, and other internal and external inconsistencies, allowing proactive maintenance to take place and reduce costs.

During an offshore oil platform inspection our operators can fly within a few meters from the platform while sending real-time data to our inspectors on the rig or work boat, including high-definition video and still imagery from every angle. This provides operators with critical information that lets them assess the platform and plan any needed work in advance, with 360°3D mapping for a fully fleshed out picture – and again saves employees from having to physically be on the rigs to inspect them.

In the unfortunate event of an oil spill it is crucial that precautionary measures are immediately taken to prevent contamination, or quickly identify and mediate the situation. We can immediately deploy a team to record the entire operation and assist in order to help minimize the environmental impact while providing valuable data and images for the insurance companies. Drones can be equipped with sensors that can measure and quantify oil spills to assess where and how fast the oil is spreading. If this information can come in real time, it can show response vessels exactly where to go and reduces recovery time and dispersal.

The overall impact of using drones increases asset safety: asset health can be precisely forecasted, and necessity for repairs can be precisely pinpointed. All repairs can be proactively implemented before any safety issues occur.

Wind Turbines

Major cost savings achieved on all types of wind turbine inspections by collecting specific data and providing accurate analysis by our in house engineers. Using the Inspedrone specialized software a three dimensional model of each wind turbine will be produced and every single defect will be recorded for easy access to all maintenance issues therefore providing an excellent tool for every owner or maintenance contractor. We will be able to provide regular reports as part of preventive planned maintenance package in order to assist our clients ensure the quality of the wind turbine and prolong its design life span making sure the performance is maintained at top levels.

Deterioration and various kind of damages can reduce the energy production and if not addressed immediately they can be proven catastrophic by causing a blade to collapse, even the simplest damage will require a complete system shut down which of course result in delays and profit loss therefore it is essential to apply a complete preventive maintenance solution.  Avoid the costly and risky traditional inspections and allow us to deploy drones and produce higher-resolution images that can identify even the smallest deterioration.

Solar Panels

Solar panels can be inspected very accurately in a friction of the time comparing with the traditional methods therefore we make sure that any defect is immediately identified and addressed to make sure that the energy production is not affected. Large solar panel farms can be inspected in a matter of minutes and not hours with Inspedrone.

Photovoltaic panels emit a certain amount of heat, and defective panels emit more heat than functioning panels therefore they become easy to identify with the use of UAV’s and special thermal cameras. The difference in temperature can be easily detected, and flyover flight by a UAV armed with an IR camera will identify malfunctioning panels quickly and inexpensively, allowing operators to replace the panels and keep the solar farm running at peak efficiency.
